Donation Station Competition Winners

Because 2020 has been such a difficult year, it seemed appropriate to give something back to support the charities and non-profit organisations that work so hard fundraising for good causes.

The Contactless Donation Station by GWD competition was open to any UK charity, who simply needed to enter the prize draw by registering before 30th November to have a chance of winning a Contactless Donation Station.

Entry was optionally anonymous, although we did ask charities to share details of the competition across social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, to help raise awareness, using the hashtag #freedonationstation.

The Winners

Due to the high number of submissions, we increased the prize draw to 5 donation stations.

The winners were as follows:

St. Mary’s is an intriguingly shaped medieval church, that has the community at the heart of everything they do. Everyone is welcome, and they run a ‘new villager’ scheme to help new residents to settle and feel at home.  They are also responsible for the Neighbourhood Care Scheme and house regular events to bring the neighbourhood together including ‘Tea @ 3’ and a village Garden Fete.

St Andrew’s Church is in the beautiful village of Spratton within the countryside of rural Northamptonshire. The support they offer to their community includes Scouts, Brownies & Guides, Explorers Football Club, Young People Group, A Tots and Toddlers group, and much more.

St Mawes is a beautiful church that overlooks the sea and is open to everyone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They work to ensure that children and adults are kept safe by working with the local community and safeguarding authorities. They have overcome the difficulties of the pandemic by moving towards a more digital approach offering video call meetings and recorded services that have been shared globally.

St Luke’s Church’s beliefs are best summed up by their motto “no matter who you are, you belong here”. They are working to create a friendly, vibrant community for people of all ages and backgrounds. They are continuing their mission in the face of the pandemic by livestreaming their services on Facebook.

Omega is a charity that helps caregivers and the bereaved to stay connected in later life and are working towards raising the standards of end of life care. They provide essential support to caregivers looking after someone with a terminal illness, people who are themselves at end of life, and those who have been bereaved.
