The Discovery Station by GWD is a digital self-service kiosk that improves the lending experience for both library users and its staff. It’s designed to suit varied user behaviours and is always easy to use.
Purposefully designed to be adapted and updated, rather require replacement when technology evolves.
This modular kiosk allows patrons to self-issue and return items, and pay any charges, and is built for future change. It helps libraries offer a sustainable lending service, making administration easier and giving library staff time for more meaningful tasks, making the experience both enjoyable and efficient.

It’s constructed robustly, made to be accessible for the widest variety of user needs, the Discovery Station is a system that’s entirely customisable.
Provided with remote access to update software and ensure smooth operation, GWD support runs through from specification to installation and maintenance.
Installed with RFID technology, biometric scanner, barcode and digital card readers, with a contactless and chip and pin payment device, it’s made to be an administrative support for the library team.
Constructed from tough materials and easy to secure to the floor, the Discovery Station design is ergonomically designed with accessibility at its heart.
Made to be easy for wheelchair users and with options for patrons with assisted needs, the kiosk experience is tested to work for many varied user needs, including languages, large-scale fonts and colour variations.

The Slim’s clean lines and minimalist profile make it a popular choice for listed buildings and galleries wishing to install a contactless donation device without altering the aesthetic.
The counter-top “Midi” Donation Station is the most flexible of our range and is suitable for installation in a variety of places. It’s securely fastened, but with key access and tools can be easily moved to a new location.
Possibilities for customisation include a freestanding podium and a hand strap for mobile use, enabling contactless fundraising on the move, such as during events.
The floor-standing “Maxi” Donation Station gives the best possible visibility for your fundraising campaigns. The solid steel podium provides a perfect platform for broadcasting your message far and wide, and can be securely fastened to any surface.

Converting an initial donation into a meaningful relationship is also part of the Donation Station experience. Key prompts for information gathering allow you to capture data from donors that can be used to continue the conversation into the future.
The entire Donation Station is open to branding, from external display to on-screen logos, photography and your brand look and feel.
Our design support service can adapt visuals and graphics to suit your brand.
If using the device in a remote location or at an event, it’s worth considering the signal strength available – GWD can support you to ensure there’s a smooth running operation on the day.
The opportunity to engage further with donors and grow your cause awareness through messaging.
We’ve designed the user journey to allow for interactive storytelling, to capture interest and guide the donor towards this goal.
All data is transmitted with full encryption, so you can be sure that all individual donor data is safely used, in accordance with GDPR regulations.
Giving choice on where the donor wants their money to be spent empowers them further. The Donation Station asks this question and gives charities freedom to present their causes and activities as separate campaigns.
An integrated Gift Aid function on all Donation Stations helps boost fundraising a further 25%. This tax relief can be claimed from HRMC from any donor that supplies their contact details and makes a declaration, as a UK tax payer. The Donation Station is designed to encourage and secure this additional fundraising income easily, through simple reports that can be downloaded and submitted to HMRC as part of a Gift Aid claim.
